What grades do you have? 

St. Paul’s Lutheran offers Preschool for 3 and 4-year olds and K-8th grade. 

What is the tuition? 

Tuition is dependent upon scholarships, tuition assistance and age level.

Does the school offer financial assistance or any scholarships? 

Yes, St. Paul’s Lutheran does provide financial assistance and scholarships. Details about scholarships are available through our church and school office. We participate in Florida’s VPK and Step-Up for Students Scholarship programs. Contact or Financial Assistant for more info: (352) 496-2892.

What is the VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten)? 

Voluntary Prekindergarten or VPK is a program that offers free preschool to all children who turn 4 years of age by September 1.  This program gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. This jump start will enable children to develop the skills to become strong readers and students at an early age.  This will enable children to be more likely to be successful in school. VPK classrooms offer high-quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, manageable class sizes, and qualified teachers. 

What is the Step-Up for Students Scholarship? 

The program provides scholarships to students in K-12.View full income guidelines on our website www.stpauls.edu.

What are the grade class sizes & student-to-teacher ratios? 

St. Paul’s Lutheran has small grade class sizes which creates a low student to teacher ratio per class. 

Does the school have a uniform policy? 

We do have school issued polo shirts and dresses that parents must purchase.  In addition families need to purchase appropriate khaki, navy blue, or black uniform shorts, skirts, and pants.

What are the school hours? 

School begins promptly at 8:00 AM.  The school doors open up at 7:45 AM.  Classes end at 3:05 PM and dismissal is at 3:10 PM, except for Thursdays which end at 2:05 PM and dismissal starts at 2:10 PM.

Is extended care available? 

We offer after-school care until 5:30 PM for a minimal fee. 

What's the main difference between a Christian school and a public school? 

In addition to an academically-challenging curriculum, our school provides a Christ-centered environment. St. Paul’s Lutheran educates to the spiritual, emotional, academic, social, and physical needs of our students. The love and forgiveness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is evident each and every day at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. 

Are teachers in your school required to have certification, like in public schools? 

All teachers have obtained a State Credential and an Education Degree from our WELS college, Martin Luther College. All K-8 teachers at St. Paul’s are state certified. 

How does your school’s curriculum meet or exceed the Florida standards? 

St. Paul’s Lutheran follows the national standards in addition to the Florida state standards.  The curriculum for St. Paul’s Lutheran includes all subjects commonly taught in elementary and middle schools as set forth by the State of Florida, including math, reading, language arts, science, social studies, art, physical education, and music. Report cards are issued four times a year, and Parent-Teacher Conferences are held twice a year or as needed.  The NWEA Map Tests are given to all students K-8 three times during the course of the school year. 

What is the enrollment process? 

 
1.    Start by completing the Interest Form on our website.
2.    You will be contacted to set up an on campus visit.
3.    Your child may be interviewed and tested to determine grade placement.
4.    Previous school records must be transferred prior to acceptance.
5.    You will receive a “Welcome to Praxi” email. This is the student information software that St. Paul’s             uses. Please provide the necessary information. 
6.    Pay the registration fee.
7.    Your child is ready to receive a great Christ centered education!!

How are applicants accepted?

St. Paul’s Lutheran School accepts all qualified applicants when space permits.  Active members of the congregation and siblings of currently enrolled students have priority, however, families do not need to attend St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to apply and be accepted.  About 85% of our student body are not members of our church. All students are taught Christian values which are vital to the education at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. 

Does St. Paul’s Lutheran have a Kindergarten age requirement? 

Applying incoming kindergarten students must be five (5) years old by September 1 in the current school year they wish to enter our school. 

Does St. Paul’s Lutheran have an interview or testing process? 

Incoming applicants will be interviewed and/or tested. Children transferring into St. Paul’s Lutheran School will need to be evaluated by our school prior to acceptance to ensure proper placement according to his or her academic level. A review of current Progress Reports (Report Cards, Achievement Test Scores and conduct) will be considered prior to admission. We will contact the students’ family to arrange a visit date. 

Do you have online registration? 

After families fill out our Interest Form, parents will register their children online with Praxi School (student information system) online registration.
