Mrs. Gaia Welfel

 Grades 7 & 8

Gaia Welfel recently graduated summa cum laude from Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and English. Previous to teaching at St. Paul's, Mrs. Welfel student-taught a full school year of 7th, 9th, & 10th English Language Arts at Eisenhower Middle/High School in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Over the last several years, she has also worked as a private writing tutor and nanny (ages 8-14.) Additionally, she managed the WLC Women's Volleyball team from 2017-2021.

After she graduated in 2021, Mrs. Welfel was called to serve St. Paul's, Beverly Hills as an Upper Grades Teacher. She has always loved teaching middle to high schoolers and has known that her interests and passions lie in English Literature. In 2021, Mrs. Welfel received the Renaissance Award from WLC, recognizing her for her contributions to the English Department over the course of her four years. She is excited to share her love of English (and History) with her new students while also sharing Christ's love for his sheep! Having previously taught in a public school, the opportunity to share her faith with others is greatly welcomed. Mrs.Welfel looks forward to her first year teaching at St. Paul's (and, perhaps, even the warm winters!)
